Local Birdwatchers
Please note that most Birdingpals are serious birdwatchers. It is a privilege to contact them, and your message should reflect it. A local Pal does not get paid, but should he/she offer to take you out birding, using their own vehicle, it would be courteous to pay for the fuel. A lunch and/or a small gift would also be appropriate, something as simple as a souvenir of your country, or a pin from your local birding club.

I've been an off-and-on birder for about 30yrs. Didn't start hard-core birding until after I retired from the US Air Force (USAF) some 13yrs. ago. My birding has so far been only in the continental 48 states.

I'm certainly interested in birds and know quite a bit, but would not consider myself an expert. My home is in the forest and during the summer we had many birds, including regular visits from White-headed Woodpeckers and many Hummingbirds. I keep the bird feeders full and enjoy watching them.

My favorite birding activity is watching Sage and Sharp-tailed Grouse on leks during April and May. I also enjoy birding all months of the year. I would be happy to take one or two people with me on my trips in Southeastern Idaho, Yellowstone Park or Island Park area of Idaho.
