Using the Birdingpal resources you must agree to the following: If you contact a local Birdingpal and make arrangement to go birding, you should note it is common courtesy to make sure you show up for the appointment. If for any reason you are unable to do this, the least you must do is contacting the local Pal right away.
Please note that most Birdingpals are serious birdwatchers. It is a privilege to contact them, and your message should reflect it. A local Pal does not get paid, but should he/she offer to take you out birding, using their own vehicle, it would be courteous to pay for the fuel. A lunch and/or a small gift would also be appropriate, something as simple as a souvenir of your country, or a pin from your local birding club.

Thank you and your wife (Sorry, I missed her name) for taking time for taking us birding to Hua Jiang Wild Duck Nature Park last afternoon. It was nice to see unknown friends in a different part of the world offering to show you the birds of their land. I do not know how to reciprocate the favor - best I can do is to give you an open invitation to visit our land, and to show you our winged beauties. We made our way to the camera shop (close to Ximen station) and returned the faulty camera - they offered to replace it today after I brought back the box which I was not carrying. I think I will just have the time to do that before leaving Taiwan. We then went to visit Taipei 101 - Sandhya had not seen that attraction, and I was seeing the evening Taipei city from top for the first time. It is really spectacular. Once again, thank you very much. Do stay in touch, and let us know when you visit India again.

I live in the mountainous suburbs of Taipei, Taiwan. There are many forest and river birds where I live and I am also in cycling distance from the Guandu Nature Park, a bird sanctuary for many migrants. The park, run by the Wild Bird Society in Taiwan also hosts a yearly Wildbird International gathering. It also runs a sanctuary for injured and sick birds not far from where I live. I am NOT a bird photographer, but many people in Taiwan are and I can take any visitor to the well-known sites in the Taipei area. I prefer to hike and bike and observe birds in the daily habits, but I am ready to assist any visiting birder. And finally, I speak English and Mandarin, and a smattering of Spanish.
