Buchu Bushcamp
Hoop Nature Reserve, Bredasdorp
Buchu Bush Camp is situated in pristine Fynbos out in the wilds but close to the main gate into De Hoop Nature Reserve and provided us with very comfortable accommodation and food. We got our only Cape Vulture of the trip over the car park. A wonderful spot. Self-catering chalets provide loads of space. Wonderful night skies without light pollution were awesome. Highly recommended. Birdingpal Bob Foskett rfoskett(AT)ntlworld.com
Thatched chalets, good food and wine right outside the gates of De Hoop NR. Birdingpal Paul Gaffan paul.gaffan(AT)btinternet.com

Kingfisher Cottage, Marina da Gama
Cannon Island
Birdwatch from your own self catering cottage for 2 overlooking the waterways of the Greater Zandvlei Wetlands Nature Reserve! We are within easy reach of important birding sites of Zandvlei Nature Reserve, Rondevlei Bird Sanctuary and Strandfontein Waste Water Treatment Works. And only two kilometers from False Bay coastline at Muizenberg. Owners birding enthusiasts
Little Lodge B&B
Newlands, Capetown
A convenient location for radial trips in the region; especially excellent for the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden which officially opens at 8am, but the Rycroft Gate opens at sun-up or even earlier. it's about a 10 minute walk to the main gate and 15 minutes to the Rycroft Gate. Afton Grove
Noordhoek, Cape Town
I stayed here in Noordhoek, south of Cape Town a few years ago. Wonderful accommodation and food as well as being dead handy for the Cape, Boulders, Kommetjie and Simonstown if you're risking a pelagic trip. Great info' on sites for birds. Loads of things to do for non-birding partners too. Very friendly place. Birdingpal Bob Foskett rfoskett(AT)ntlworld.com

The rustic lodge is way out in the boonies north of Ceres and close to Katbakkies Pass, a stunning place to bird. Werner does marvels in a tiny kitchen too. Essential to take heed of the map - a hard lace to find! Stay as long as you can. Birdingpal Bob Foskett rfoskett(AT)ntlworld.com
