The Painted Pony Resort is a new facility located outside Portal Arizona, Cave Creek Canyon, and the Chiricahua Mountains. It's 9 bedrooms, in 3 buildings, can easily accommodate 18 people. Five full RV hookups supplement the interior living spaces providing additional possibilities for guests wishing to expand or large traveling birding groups. With kitchens in 2 buildings group meals are easy. It's heated pool, hot tub, basketball, pool and ping pong tables provide diversions when not out birding in the Chiricahua Mountains. The Painted Pony, situated on 80 acres, offers guests seclusion in the high New Mexico desert and is bordered by state land on 2 sides. The resort is managed by a PhD Biologist who is familiar with the Chiricahua Mountains and maintains contacts with professional guide services.
