| Hostellerie Pont de Gau
Camargue Hello BirdingPal Admin - I would like to provide a recommendation for birder-friendly accommodation in the Camargue region of Southern France. My husband and I stayed at the Hostellerie Pont de Gau, just steps from the front entrance of the Ornithological Park of Pont de Gau in the Camargue. The Camargue is known for their healthy Greater Flamingo population, and the Ornithological Park is a magnificent place to see them. The owners of the Hostellerie are eager to assist visitors with other prime spots to go bird watching in the area; they also have items, such as bug spray, for purchase on site, which is necessary in the springtime :) |

You can watch our resident Bonelli's eagles and golden eagles from the deck in front of the house some days! The coastal salt water lagoons host plenty of waders and other water birds, including flamingoes. The combination of resident and migrating birds ensures something interesting to see in both spring and autumn and is making this an increasingly popular destination for bird watching holidays.
