Cameroon

*Ranch Ngaoundaba
Ngaoundere, Adamawa Province
An old hunting lodge in the mountains with facilities were quite nice. Large rooms and attached bathrooms, but no hot water for showering. Since the water was not ice cold, it was not a real problem for me.
Located in a private cattle ranch about 1400m above sea level, next to a volcanic crater lake, and surrounded by forest, it is a great place for birdwatching. Knud Rasmussen krkr(AT)sympatico.ca

*Hotel Ayaba
Bamendaa
This is a real "hotel" even have an elevator. Well run with all the amenities. Knud Rasmussen krkr(AT)sympatico.ca
*German Seaman's Mission, Foyer du Marin
Douala
Properly the best small hotel in Douala and they do accept other travelers than german Seamen. Nice rooms and a good restaurant, but it is not always easy to get a room so you should plan well ahead if you want to stay there. Knud Rasmussen krkr(AT)sympatico.ca
*Campement du Buffle Noir
Garoua
This is a basic lodge in a national park. As usally in Cameroon the restaurant has good food and the rooms are clean. Knud Rasmussen krkr(AT)sympatico.ca
*Miramere Hotel

Located in the Botanical Garden it is a comfortable place and the birding is great early morning. Knud Rasmussen krkr(AT)sympatico.ca
