Serendipity Ranch Bed and Breakfast
Oak Glen
I just had an incredible birding experience at The Serendipity Ranch Bed and Breakfast located in Oak Glen. The ranch is located in an area known for growing apples. But this B & B is off the beaten path nestled in a quiet valley at the end of a private road. The woodland habitat in the fall is home to both Jays, Juncos, Quail, Titmouse, Acorn & Nuttall's woodpecker, hawks, warblers, wrens, Mountain chickadees and many more. I was lucky enough to see 2 immature Bobcats in the wild. The owners are certified to own some exotic animals: they have 3 Lamas, 3 miniature horses, 2 European Fallow deer, goats and some exotic birds. Nina and Bill's home is warm and friendly with clean and well maintained accommodations. They even welcome children. The gourmet breakfast was scrumptious. Very reasonably priced. Birdingpal H. Point Reyes
I'm a lifelong birder, as were my parents. We are now offering their longtime home in Point Reyes, CA as a vacation rental. It's a wonderful location on Inverness Ridge, local highlights include resident Pileated Woodpeckers. It's just outside the boundaries of the Point Reyes National Seashore, which of course is a famous birding spot. The house includes some good binocs. and plenty of field guides!
