Local Birdwatchers
Please note that most Birdingpals are serious birdwatchers. It is a privilege to contact them, and your message should reflect it. A local Pal does not get paid, but should he/she offer to take you out birding, using their own vehicle, it would be courteous to pay for the fuel. A lunch and/or a small gift would also be appropriate, something as simple as a souvenir of your country, or a pin from your local birding club.

Haifa is located on the coast line, a 30 minute drive from fish ponds on the coast
line and good place for waders. Also not far from the Yizrael Valley, good for raptor migration in the spring and autumn.
I am an amateur birder. Happy for company and happy to learn.

I'm an amature bird watcher. The Dead Sea Rift and Jordan Valley are within 1 hour drive. Around Jerusalem there are lots of different habitats, ranging from Mediterranean mountain scrub to the extremely arid.

Pardess Hanna is on the northern coastal plain of Israel, where there are a lot of
fish ponds that attract many shorebirds and other birds (storks, pelicans, singing birds) during migration. We also have a nice nesting colony of egrets (3 spp) and glossy ibis, and a winter colony of about 7000 cormorants.

I am 62 years old and I'm watching birds almost ten years. I'm not a great expert but
I can help Birdingpals with information and advises them about where and when to do birdwatching and to join them on trips if it fits my spare time (I'm still working). My English is good enough also I'll have to use an English birding guide book in order
to define birds, if I don't know their English names. I'm a member in a group of 15 people that go on one to two days trips once a month. Our guide is a professional bird watcher And he speaks English fluently so a Pal can join us if he comes on the right time. Ramat Hasharon is close to Tel Aviv. Because Israel is quite small, yet very abundant with birds (especially from September
to May), it's no more than 2 hours drive to the most remote, but interesting birding spots like the Hula Valley, The dead Sea
and Judean Desert etc. Only Eilat which is the one of the best places in the entire glob for watching migrating birds is quite far- four hours drive. There are also many close places to my place like Ma'agan Mikhael - a great spot for watching waterfowl, sea birds and waders.
