Using the Birdingpal resources you must agree to the following: If you contact a local Birdingpal and make arrangement to go birding, you should note it is common courtesy to make sure you show up for the appointment. If for any reason you are unable to do this, the least you must do is contacting the local Pal right away.
Please note that most Birdingpals are serious birdwatchers. It is a privilege to contact them, and your message should reflect it. A local Pal does not get paid, but should he/she offer to take you out birding, using their own vehicle, it would be courteous to pay for the fuel. A lunch and/or a small gift would also be appropriate, something as simple as a souvenir of your country, or a pin from your local birding club.

Lifelong birder, though not as hardcore as some. As of 2024, I've been in China for 6+ years, the first 3 in Beijing.
I'm always happy to take folks birding in the area, though I don't currently have a Chinese drivers license, which is somewhat limiting.

I would at least reply to requests for information. I'm not a senior bird watcher, but have been watching birds on and off for years, and would be able to guide birders interested to see city birds (such as in the summer palace), or close by birding sites when I have time (such as BeiDaiHe). I do this for fun and experience, not for money (will accept tips if offered). I would be a responsible guide if foreigners need to reply on me on the trip, but also expect to enjoy the time for myself.

Largely based in Beijing - not just a huge, rapidly modernising historic city but home to some excellent birding. Whether it be year round Ibisbills or Long-billed Plovers or spring and autumn Baikal Teal, Saker Falcon or possibly Japanese Waxwing, birding Beijing's lots of fun. Available in Beijing and throughout China.

Hong Kong is not all skyscrapers and bright lights! There is really excellent opportunity to see both migratory and resident species to add to your life list. My wife and I are strictly amateurs, but won't pass up an opportunity to share our knowledge and hopefully learn from others as well. We have some basic photography equipment/skills and relatively good knowledge of the hotspots. We'd be happy to try and accomodate your specific requests or take you out on one of our forays.

After my graduation, I began to worked with the Chengdu Bird Watching Society as vice director. I'm so happy go out with birders from all over the world for birding, we can share the joy from birding. Sichuan, which holds more than half of the Chinese endemic birds (around 40 species),conbining with its unique landscape, food and culture, is definately the best birding destination in China.. As Chinese birding community still in its infant, we have a lot of things to learn. Anyone who willing to give a talk to the member of CDBWS about birding, bird studies, conservation and related topic will be heartfully welcome!
Birding spot in and around Chengdu, also can cover other birding spots in Sichuan.
If you contact a professional Birdingpal guide you must be prepared to pay a fee for guiding services.
