When you decide to spend your money on a professional guide, it is not easy to know, what kind of person you are contacting on the internet. As you may know, there is many such guides posted with their resume on Birdingpal but I do not think, I ever had any complains since we started five years ago.
If you have any comments or testimonials about professional Birdingpal guides please let us know.

Mary and I just returned from a Panama Canal Cruise. We were able, with your help, to obtain guides for two day trips. The first one from Puntarenas Costa Rica was with Randall Ortega. He was excellent. (We visited Carrara abouit 50km from the port).
For your information I have emailed the following testimonial to him which he can use on his website;-
Testimonial follows:-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our day of birdwatching with Randall Ortega. Even though we had visited Costa Rica before we were able to obtain 24 new life birds in a very short period of time. His knowledge of local bird life is excellent. If you are fortunate enough to find him available for a tour, I highly recommend that you take advantage of his services."
The second one from Puerto Quetzal Guatemala was with Victor Juarez of Alas, card attached, We visited Finca Los Tarrales ( they have a website ) and added 8 new birds there. Not easy as we had visited Tikal, Belize, and Mexico previously. Josue de Leon Lux was the guide and he was excellent. Altogether it was a most enjoyable day.
Regards, and thanks for your help;- it is not easy to get willing experienced bird guides for day trips from cruise ships, but the market is there, not everyone wants to go on a Heinz variety ship sponsored eco-tour with fifty or sixty others!
Regards,
Mary and Dave Lord. |

During my trip to Argentina 2006 I had the pleasure birding with the following pros.
Sergio Corbet Buenos Aires
During my two trips to Argentina I had the pleasure birding with Sergio in the Buenos Aires area and the province of Corrientes. Being not only an excellent guide but also a great companion, I highly recommend his services.
Alec Earnshaw Buenos Aires
Alec Earnshaw an accomplished photographer knows the best hot spots in and around Buenos Aires, and the exciting area in the south of the province of Entre Rios, where Alec guided me during my last trip. You will not go wrong with his services.
Juan Carlos Grasso Villa Carlos Paz, Cordoba During mi visit to Cordoba in 2006 I had the pleasure of being guided by Juan Carlos a very knowledgeable birding guide and professional photographer. I can recommend him and he is a great guy too.
Francisco Cornell SS de Jujuy, Jujuy
Jujuy, North-western Argentina is a great place for birding. 20 minutes into out trip Francisco Cornell delivered not one but two Rufous-Throated Dippers and Torrent Duck, just as he had promised. I recommend him as a local guide.
Daniel Somay Iguazu, Misiones
Visiting Iguazu and the National Park you can not go wrong if you hire Daniel Somay (if you can get him. He is always busy) to show you the birds. As an ex park ranger he will find the birds. He did for me.
